Nach meinem Studium zur Dipl. Kommunikations Designerin mit Fokus auf Typografie und Kalligrafie an der Hochschule RheinMain in Wiesbaden habe ich ein paar Jahre in Werbeagenturen in Frankfurt a.M., Hamburg und Berlin gearbeitet. Hier habe ich gelernt strategisch fundierte Kommunikationsmaßnahmen und Präsentationen für internationale Marken zu entwickeln und diese für die Medien Print, Web, TV und Kino umzusetzen.
In 2003 habe ich Katja Hofmann Design, das Studio for good Design & Hand-Lettering in Berlin gegründet. KH Design ist ein interdisziplinäres Kreativstudio, das sich der visuellen Identität und ganzheitlichen Designlösungen in digitaler, gedruckter und handwerklich umgesetzter Form widmet.
Designlösungen die einem Business, Raum , einer Marke oder Website ein unverwechselbares Gesicht verleihen. Das Gesicht das ich erschaffe besteht aus Texten, Bildern, Farben, Illustrationen und Schriften. Dabei setze ich als mein Handwerkszeug die Typografie, Kalligrafie und viel Liebe zum Detail in das was ein Business authentisch sichtbar macht und die gewünschte Zielgruppe erreicht.
Katja Hofmann Design betreut Auftraggeber von Freiberufler über Start-up’s, Vereine, kleine, mittelständische bis hin zu großen Unternehmen. Unabhängig von der Größe gehe ich jedes Projekt mit großer Freude und Respekt an, um gute Ergebnisse für meine Auftraggeber zu erzielen. Ergebnisse die eigen, funktional und langlebig sind und das anvisierte Ziel erreichen.
Meine Arbeit ist geprägt durch ungewöhnliche Ideen, einen starken Fokus auf Typografie, Schrift und Kalligrafie, handwerkliches Geschick, besondere Farb- und Formkombinationen, sowie einen nachhaltigen und ressourcenschonenden Umgang mit Materialien.
Bei der Zusammenarbeit bringe ich viel Gespür für die Wünsche meiner Auftraggeber und die Bedürfnisse der Zielgruppen mit. Dank meiner Ausbildung zur Schildermaler- und Lichtreklameherstellerin verfüge ich über Kenntnisse in verschiedenen handwerklichen Herstellungstechniken. Dazu gehört Kalligrafie, das Verarbeiten von Blattsilber,- gold und -kupfer, Siebdruck , die Anfertigung von Schriften und Beschriftungen von Hand.

KATJA HOFMANN DESIGN
After graduating as a communication designer at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, I spent a few years working for international advertising agencies in Frankfurt a.M., Hamburg and Berlin. Here I learned to develop strategically sound ideas, concepts and campaigns for brands and to implement them for various media such as print, web, TV and cinema.
In 2003 I founded Katja Hofmann Design in Berlin. KH Design is an interdisciplinary creative studio dedicated to timeless, intelligent and innovative design solutions. Solutions that are clear, entertaining, individual, sympathetic and above all functional.
Katja Hofmann Design serves clients ranging from private individuals to freelancers, start-ups, associations, mid-size-businesses to big companies.
Regardless of the size, I approach every project with great joy and respect in order to achieve the best result for my clients. Results that are strategic, unique, long-lasting and leave a lasting impression on the audience.
My work is characterized by unusual communication ideas, high quality standards in design, a lot of love for detail, courage for colours, forms and letters as well as a sensitive and sustainable treatment of materials.

Thanks to my previous professions as a sign painter and light advertising manufacturer, I have special knowledge in various craft manufacturing techniques. This includes calligraphy as well as working with silver, gold and copper leaf, silk screen printing or the production of typefaces and letterings by hand.
